After spending a week with my family we drove to spend a week with Goldie's family! We had a great time! Kenan got to hang out with Taytum and Spencer who he also adores while we visited with Corde and Leslie! PMo also treated Goldie and I both to manicures and pedicures! This was Goldie's first mani or pedi and he said, "If somebody wants to rub on his feet he would let them again!" We also got to go the movies a couple times! We enjoyed hanging out with all of the family but it always goes by too quick! Kenan left Texas all fixed up to be a real cowboy with boots, Wranglers and a cowboy hat!

Goldie's leave this year was the two weeks before Christmas so we had to be on the ball to get all the gifts bought by then! We had a great time with my side of the family! Kenan loves getting to spend time with all of his cousins! He grins from ear to ear the whole time he is around them! I think they are pretty fond of him, too!

Santa

We took Kenan to see Santa Claus this year! I was a little worried what we would get but Kenan seemed to like him! There were a couple of girls ahead of us sitting in Santa's lap and Kenan kept trying to get down and run to him, too! When it was our turn Kenan held out his arms to Santa and sat right down! He sat there contentedly while Santa and I had a chat about where we got the name Kenan! However, we couldn't get him to smile when we took the picture! Santa kept saying what a "Dandy" he was!

This was a couple days later!

On Sunday I am getting ready for church and I hear this blood curdling scream from Kenan! So I rush in here and he has somehow pulled the iron off of the ironing board! In the process he burnt his left hand pretty badly! He was totally inconsolable! Of course, as Murphy's Law would have it, Goldie was on duty on the ship! So he wasn't here! I went ahead and went to church thinking that once Kenan went in the nursery and started playing he would be distracted and forget about it! He only made it about ten minutes before they called me out! They couldn't get him to calm down either! By this time I was in tears myself - those darn hormones! So we headed home again! Kenan was crying and waving his hand compulsively! I could tell he was really in a lot of pain! I felt so sorry for him! After a couple hours and a dose of Motrin he had pretty much forgotten about it and was fine but it did blister! That was a terrible morning!

This is a year for new Christmas traditions! Since we got married we have always been in Texas for Christmas! Well this year Goldie's leave fell before the actual holidays so we are going to be in our own home for Christmas and New Year's! So that meant that I had to actually decorate for the holidays this year! We bought a new fake Christmas tree and had it up before December! That in itself is a miracle! I thought our tree turned out great! While we will miss being with ALL the family on Christmas we are going to embrace the opportunity to make new Christmas traditions!

Thanksgiving Time Out

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the Hollingsworth's who were gracious enough to open their home to us and the Smith's for a great meal! We enjoyed our time there very much! We flat tuckered Kenan out! He fell asleep in the car on the way home and then on Goldie! Goldie was savoring every moment of having a cuddly Kenan in his lap!

Black Friday

Here is Kenan planning his Black Friday shopping spree! He is making sure we know everything that he wants! We didn't get up at the crack of dawn like we have in the past but we made a full day of shopping! We just about got everybody taken care of for Christmas! Kenan was an angel and rode around in the cart all day without any fuss! It was a fun day of family being together!
