What a day!

Yes, it is true! I paid somebody to clean my house! It was the best money that I have ever spent! I am somewhat of a lazy person... However, it was the stress it relieved by having someone else do it that made it worth it though! Really!

We also got a call that our stuff made it to VA! They asked if we were ready to accept it! That would have been a little hard since we are still in Florida! So Goldie set up a date to accept it but not until June 24th! So that meant almost a month without our stuff and buying a lot of stuff that we already had. Not the end of the world but an inconvenience at the least since we were originally told we could get our stuff on July 1st!

Goldie was talking to our friend, Tally, who lives in VA and told him about our situation! Tally, offered to be the receiving agent for our stuff! Totally out of the blue and not at all why Goldie had called him. Thank the Lord for good friends! Tally went over and forked out some of his own money to help us out! He and his wife stayed at the house until 10pm receiving our household goods! So now we have our house full of our stuff to go to this weekend! Thank you, Lord!
God is so good and he works in even the littlest things! He has also blessed us with amazing friends that would suffer a little (or I should say a lot) of inconvenience for us! We owe them big time - although knowing them they won't let us! So we will have to be sneaky!

Crazy Bird

Today I was chilling at my neighbors house watching a movie while Kenan napped. I heard this big thud on the Florida room window. I just assumed that the kids from the house behind Marcy's had thrown a ball or something that hit the window. A little later I went to let the dogs out and laying on the ground was a dead bird. So, what I think happened is the bird flew SMACK into the window which was his/her demise! So much for natural selection! You can't even make stuff up that good! It reminded me of the Windex commercial with the birds if you have seen it. Marcy, your windows must be really clean! Goldie disposed of the bird in Mrs. Haversham's yard! I didn't think about it until after we got rid of it that I should have taken a picture so I would have proof! Oh well!

Getting so big

Kenan has had several firsts this week. I think God prompted this to happen this week to help ease the stress of moving. It is easy to find joy in the small things when it is your child doing them. This week Kenan started really saying a few words that we understand. He has been saying Rock, dog, ball, and tickle, tickle, tickle. Of course we think it is the cutest thing ever! He also started signing "please"!

Today Goldie had him over at our house which is empty. In an effort to keep him contained he shut all the doors of the room they were in. The next thing he knew Kenan was gone. He had managed to open the doors on his own. When did he figure out how to do this?

Hopefully this is not boring stuff to you all but like I said at the very beginning I can't keep up with the baby book so this is it!

Trash Stealer

So the packers are here packing up our stuff and we are trying to get rid of stuff as we go along! One of the things we got rid of is our grill! It is all rusted out and a wheel has fallen off! So we put our trash out by the curb for them to pick up this morning like we do every Wednesday night! Well, we are staying at our neighbors house across the street and have a great view of the front of our house! We look out and see this man checking out the grill. We figured upon further inspection he will drive away! Oh but no, he loads the grill up into his truck with only one wheel. As he drives away we notice he has several other "treasures" in the back of his truck! So it is true, one man's junk is another man's treasure. Goldie did take a picture with his cell phone! It isn't very clear but you see him making his getaway!

My Baby... Not Anymore!

So the realization is hitting me that my baby is no longer a baby anymore! Goldie has been telling me this for a long time now but I have been in denial! He can reach the doorknobs and look up over the top of the kitchen table. He can even catch a ball about 85% of the time. He is eating anything and everything but he especially wants whatever we are eating! He talks and sings all the time but none of it is intelligible! However, he is starting to form words! Very few words but nonetheless. He also has a great understanding for what we are saying to him! So in my estimation he must be a genius! ;)

So here is my question to you, the reader of this blog, is it time to start thinking about number two? Be sure and vote in the poll on the left hand side of my blog!

More Teeth

Saturday night I was putting Kenan to bed and decided to feel if his other bottom molar had started to break the surface! In my perusal I discovered that both of the top molars had come through! So Kenan now has eleven teeth with one ready to come through any day now! I can't believe he is getting so big!

Teeth

Kenan woke up this morning with a new tooth and a snotty nose! The tooth is just to his right of the center two teeth on the bottom! This makes tooth number nine in his head! It looks like the molar on his left side is about to pop through, also! Teething is why Tylenol and Motrin are my new best friends!

Goose Egg

So last night was a usual night! We were just hanging out playing with Kenan! He was in a good mood playing chase with Goldie and laughing! Well, he lost his balance and fell right into the corner of the wall! He started crying that cry that no sound comes out! We knew that he hit it pretty hard! Well, almost immediately this huge goose egg popped up! I have never seen one this big ever! He didn't cry for very long until we tried to apply ice! He hated that! Nevertheless we held him down and iced it! By the time he went to bed it was a little smaller but still pretty big! We had originally planned on going to Target but chose to stay home after the incident! I could just see somebody calling DCF on us! He has a big bruise this morning with a little bump!

This is what the bruise looks like this afternoon! Poor little guy!

May at a Glance

We started May by working at the TPC (The Player's Championship). Goldie's squadron always works this event and so I tagged along to help this year! Kirk, Leslie, Blake and Blair came during the tournament so Kirk could go help Goldie, also! Goldie and Kirk went the last day of the tournament and had front row seats for the tie breaker hole for the championship! You couldn't wipe the smile off of Kirk's face! I might add that I drove Sergio Garcia on the driving range who was this year's winner! While the men enjoyed the golf tournament, Leslie and I took the kids to the beach! Saturday Goldie had class so we all loaded up and went to Disney's Magic Kingdom! The kids all had a blast! The week had no shortage of Wii play, too! Blake and Blair are both really good so I obliged and played with them - we got some great video of them playing! This was after our day at the beach! We met the guys for some dinner! Blake and Blair love "their Kenan"! And Kenan loves them, too! Kenan is almost as big as Blair but she wanted to hold him, too!

Blake and Kenan dressed alike for church on Sunday! They were so cute! Here they are showing off their attire! Here's all the gang before they left! We were sure sad to see them go! We had such a good time while they were here! The day after Kirk and Leslie left we went to Norfolk for house hunting leave! Above is the house that we will be renting during our time there! Hopefully we will only be there two years! We were glad that it didn't seem nearly as bad as we thought it was going to be in Norfolk! Of course we haven't experienced a winter yet! While we were there we got to stay with our good friends Tally and Julie and their kiddos, Pat, Emma, and Eliza! We managed to get a few games of 42 in during our stay! Here is Kenan and Eliza riding in the wagon! They loved it! Kenan got croup while we were there which made house hunting fairly miserable for us all! When we were on our way home we also noticed he had a molar coming in! No wonder he was such a mess while we were there! He had another tooth pop through the following week!

We turned around on Friday after getting home on Wednesday and went to Orlando to see Garrett, Sarah, Sydney and Ethan! We had a great visit with them and played lots of Settlers of Catan! Unfortunately I forgot my camera!
So staying true to form we had a busy month of May!

Camaro

The Camaro finally looks like a car again! Goldie had torn it up to restore it and then the guy that was helping had to move! So the car was in a million pieces and didn't even look like any car you would recognize!

Well, Goldie went to pick it up today after all the body work and paint had been done! It looks awesome! Now we are just waiting for the convertible top to be put on! Hopefully it will all be done by the time we move at the end of the month!

April at a Glance!

We started off April with my parents in town! They stayed for a few weeks and we worked on getting the house ready to sell or rent! We worked really hard at staging the house and getting the yard pristine! I'm not sure they will ever come back to visit because we worked so hard! We were so blessed that the very first person interested in the house wanted it! So we signed a three year lease! God is so good and this was a huge answer to prayer!
We celebrated Kenan's 1st birthday while they were he
re a few days before he actually turned one!
We went to our friend, Mike Hardwick's, retirement ceremony at Cape Canaveral on Kenan's birthday! Mike served 20+ years in the Navy! We went down to the beach to get some pictures while we were there!

Then we headed to Orlando to celebrate Ethan's 2nd Birthday! He had an Elmo party! Kenan and Ethan have the same birthday one year apart!
The following weekend we headed to Gatlingburg to meet our friends Bert & Julianna! We had a great weekend to catch up and to introduce Kenan and Roman! They are only 4 months apart in age! We had such a good time!

So that is what all happened in April! All this and Goldie went to school, too! He was taking his last class for his master's!

Sucked Into Blogging

Okay, now I have one more thing to keep up with! I am horrible at keeping up with the baby book so maybe since I sit at a computer pretty often I can keep up with the happenings on it. Enjoy!
