Sladen Turns Two

I cannot believe that Sladen has turned two! I made a cake on his birthday for us to eat and then we had a party the following weekend. The H's, Val, Bob and Robert all came to help us celebrate! Sladen loved opening all of his presents and eating his Elmo cake! Even daddy was here to help us celebrate. Goldie missed Sladen's birth and his first birthday! Sladen really understood what it was all about this time. When we sang "Happy Birthday" to him he sang right along with us.

It blows my mind that it has already been two years since Sladen was born. The time has gone so slow but yet so fast. Sladen is such a joy! He is a happy little boy. He loves to play and he is talking up a storm. He is a blur most of the time because he is so busy and into everything. He cannot be left alone for a minute. He reminds us to pray before every meal. He commentates almost everything he sees or does. He loves saying hello to people in the store and getting their attention. He is quite the charmer! He is a little snuggle bug and gives the best hugs. He is also quite an eater - he eats almost anything until we have to cut him off. Except broccoli - he hates broccoli. He loves to run "fast" and jump. When music is playing he almost always breaks out into dance. And one of my favorite things is he is the spitting image of his daddy. I never thought I would have a blond headed, blue eyed baby!

We love you, Sladen! We can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for you and your life! We are so glad that Lord blessed us with you!

On our way back to VA from TX we made a pit stop in College Station. We had not been back to Texas A&M since Goldie's youngest brother graduated in 2002 (I think). We have such fond memories of going to school at Texas A&M and have stated numerous times that we would go back there in a heartbeat. Not to mention that is where Goldie and I met and fell in love! Awww! College was such a wonderful time. We hope one day our boys will want to go there, also! Especially since that is where we will be sending our money it would be good if the boys were actually going to school there! ;-) It was a fast and furious trip and we didn't get to see everything that we wanted to but it was wonderful to walk down memory lane together. We also stocked up on Texas A&M paraphernalia.
