On June 26th Rusty and Rhesa had a surprise 40th anniversary party for their mom and dad. It just so happened to be my 11th anniversary that day. Uncle Eddie knew about the party but Aunt Deb had no idea. It turned out great and a ton of the family from out of town were there. It was so good to get to see everybody. I think that Eddie and Debbie enjoyed the party. Forty years of marriage is so uncommon these days so it is important to celebrate it right. Happy 40th Anniversary Uncle Eddie and Aunt Debbie! Love you very much!

Unfortunately while I was home in Texas my great aunt Dolie passed away. It was good that it happened while I was home and could go to the funeral since I missed two of my grandparents funerals due to distance. I know some of you think it is weird to have pictures at the viewing. I admit it is a little strange. The kids were all so curious and asked a lot of questions. There is no better chance to share the gospel than trying to explain where somebody goes once they die here on this earth. It was a really sweet time.

My Aunt Dolie was an amazing lady. She didn't have much as far as material possessions but was perfectly content in her situation. She loved our family and got much joy from them. She had an uncanny knack for remembering birthdays. I am talking the birthdays of ALL of the extended family. She was sweet and loving and didn't come with any preconceived notions about anybody. She will be greatly missed!

Matching

Blair dressed Kenan up as a King. Kenan looks thrilled about it doesn't he? So funny!

I love these pictures of the boys in their matching polos and Blair in her green shirt. Kenan and Sladen love Blake and Blair and think they are the funniest people ever. It tends to get a little loud when they are all together because they are laughing hysterically. It brings me great joy to hear them getting along and loving each other so much. I hope they continue to be good friends well into adulthood.

4th of July... sort of

Every year for 4th of July mother buys us all matching flag shirts. This is our flag shirt photo shoot. Unfortunately Bryan has missed the last two year's photo shoots. This isn't actually the 4th because I left to come back to VA before the 4th. Shhh, don't tell!

Swimming, Swimming and More Swimming

While we were in Texas we did our fair share of swimming. We went out to the Carruth's with all of the Dunn clan on the hottest day of the summer so far. It was 110 degrees that day and it was hot. Kirk made a rule that everybody "had" to swim. Sladen wondered out onto the driveway with no shoes on and within seconds had blistered his feet. It was HOT! Everybody actually did get into the pool except for Aunt Debbie. We had such a good time. Both of my boys are water babies and love to be in the water. Kenan even went down the slide a few times. I couldn't believe that both of my parents swam and dad even went down the slide.

We, also, swam at Heather and Rusty's new pool. They had just built a house and had moved in a few weeks prior. They were out of town and gave Rhesa the rule of the roost. So we tested out their new pool a few times. We really enjoyed swimming there, too.

My boys were so exhausted during our time in Texas because we going non-stop. I believe that everyone had a great time!
