Goldie and I took another trip to Mexico this summer. It was a great trip of just being together, just the two of us. After a 7 month deployment we needed some time to just reconnect and focus on each other without the everyday stresses that we face. The resort that we went to was called El Dorado Maroma and it was fabulous. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The beach was AMAZING! The resort has 70 rooms and I think they were only about half full so it was almost like we had the resort all to ourselves. We ordered room service every morning after we slept in until at least 0900. We spent most of our days laying on the beach reading and talking. We ate fantastic food at every meal. You can see that we actually did get in the water and it was perfect. We saw quite a few fish and a few crabs. One day we kayaked out to a fresh spring water cave and got to snorkel. We saw some amazing fish of all colors. We decided that we still had enough strength to kayak out to the reef and did some more snorkeling. We were amazed at all the fish and how they just swam next to us like we were part of the school. It was so cool. Our guide said he was impressed with our kayaking skills since it was our first time. I don't think he really believed it was our first time. We were flattered because almost everybody we talked to thought we were there on our honeymoon. We had such a fantabulous time! We wish that we could go on a trip like that every year.

If you remember we went to Mexico last year when Goldie returned from deployment and to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We loved the resort that we stayed at so much we actually almost went back to the same one. We decided to try out a different one to see what else is out there. We definitely were not disappointed. It would be hard to say which one I liked better. There were different things that we liked about each one. They were both wonderful and I would recommend either one.
