The Virginia Aquarium

One of the things we wanted to do before we move is go to the aquarium with Daddy so we took one day to do just that. The boys really enjoyed it... well, except for the sharks! Kenan was deathly afraid of the sharks. It was a fun time as a family!

Friends Come to Visit

A while back we went to the Virginia Military Tattoo. It is modeled after the Scottish Tattoo in Scotland where several military bands come together and perform. It was really interesting. One of Goldie's childhood friends, Paige, and her family came to go with us. We enjoyed seeing Paige and meeting her husband, Sam, and daughter, Adeline (not sure of the spelling)!

Fun Times With Daddy

Here are a few random pictures! Yes, Sladen is really flying that high in the above pictures. Both boys love to be thrown around and wrastled with. They love it. They are definitely ALL BOY!

We spent two weeks in April in Jacksonville. We had such a wonderful time there and getting to visit with friends. We were fortunate enough to have wonderful friends let us stay with them while we were there. Unfortunately the first week we were there Goldie had to work and the boys and I got the stomach bug. The second week we spent meeting contractors to get estimates for work we want to get done to the house. It was a busy week. We are so excited to move back.

While we were there we squeezed in a little time to celebrate Kenan's 4th birthday. Every since his last birthday Kenan has wanted a Spider-Man cake. I'm really not sure why since he has never seen a Spider-Man movie and really doesn't know anything about Spider-Man. He never wavered on that one request. I ended up ordering a cake from Publix because there just was not enough time for me to make a cake for him. The cake was fabulous and delicious. Al-Pal was gracious enough to host us and Mike and Amanda for a party.

We are very excited to move back to Jax. It was almost like we had never left. We look forward to plugging back into our church there and catching up with everybody. We are excited for the changes that we are making to our "old" house there. We are also looking forward to having wonderful neighbors again. I am anxious to get back to the south where the weather is warmer and the people are friendlier.

Project Simplify

Master Bedroom Closets

My sister-in-law is doing Project Simplify and I decided to jump on board, too. With an impending move on the horizon, it can't hurt to get rid of some clutter and go ahead and get rid of some stuff so we don't have to move it. This week's project was the master bedroom closet. Or in our house closets - his and hers. Goldie did his own closet and I worked on mine. Just a little tidbit... before we started we did not have a single spare hanger. Sad, I know. It, also, made laundry a real chore since we never had enough hangers to hang all of our clothes. Below are the before and after pictures.

Look at all those extra hangers now! Woo hoo!

Even more hangers!

Our donate pile. Yep, you counted right! There are 10 bags!

We did it! I got rid of no less than 15 pairs of jeans. ( I do love to wear jeans!) Some things I was hanging on to for sentimental reasons. Who knows why!? It must be genetic. We are going to donate it all. What a great feeling to walk into my closet now and have room to breath!
