The countdown begins! Goldie left for five months on Saturday! However, he had to be at the boat on Friday! Unfortunately baby #2 decided not to come before Goldie left which made for a very emotional goodbye... for me anyway! However, I am glad that the goodbye is over and I can start counting down to when Goldie returns!

I am sure you are wondering what kind of conditions Goldie is living in while underway so I am posting pictures! Kenan and I were able to go visit Goldie one evening while he was on duty! Last week he was able to take my parents and give them the grand tour of the boat, also! So here are the pictures that we took!

Snow

A few days ago we woke up to snow outside! There wasn't a lot of it and once the sun came out it melted but it was a pretty sight!

38 Week Belly

I am now 38 weeks pregnant! I am ready to go into labor at any time! We are just really praying I have it within the next week so that Goldie will still be here!

One thing about the Navy is that there is no lack for formal dinners! Last week we had a "Dining Out" for the USS Eisenhower wardroom! It was a fun event with all the protocols!

Unfortunately I had a stomach bug a couple days before and I still felt miserable the day of the dinner! We had reserved a room at the Marriott for that night since mother was here and could watch Kenan! I had decided I would at least go to the hotel and take advantage of sleeping in if nothing else! When we got to the hotel I decided to go ahead and shower and start getting ready and see how I felt! By the time I got completely ready I felt pretty good! So fortunately I got to go!

It was fun to meet all the people that Goldie works with on the boat! The dinner had much excitement with a Piper, fines, drinking from the grog, parading the beef, toasts and other protocol that had to be followed! The proceedings were moderated by Mr. President (the CO) and Mr. Vice!

Later they had a dance and they actually played country music! So Goldie and I cut a rug - we two stepped and jitterbugged hoping it might put me into labor to no avail! I am sure it was quite a sight with me 37 weeks pregnant out on the dance floor! It was fun nonetheless! We definitely took advantage of being able to sleep in the next morning - it was after 1000 that we finally woke up! That was like an early Christmas present!

Goldie's Dirty Lip... I Mean Mustache!?

So most of the shooters on the boat decided to grow mustaches while underway last month! Goldie has attempted this before while on deployment! Since his hair is so blond it just looks like he has a dirty lip! Thankfully after he let me see it he shaved it off! I like my clean shaven honey much better!

My (almost) 36 Week Belly

Now that Goldie is home we are hoping to go into labor at any time! We only have a few weeks before he leaves for deployment so we covet any prayers for him to be here for the delivery! Of course we only want what is in the Lord's will! Luckily my mom is here and my dad will be here in a couple weeks, so I will have a great support system either way!

Crazy Hair

Kenan literally sleeps on top of his head and this is the result when he gets up! It cracks me up! It is so funny to see him with his head in the corner of his crib and his rear up in the air! It is even funnier to see the havoc caused to his hair! Love it!
