The beautiful turkey

We spent Thanksgiving with GW and Sarah this year! We had a wonderful time and an awesome Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings. The last day we were there during nap time the adults had a Nerf gun war. It was so fun shooting and chasing each other around the house. We, also, did some target shooting. The deer better watch out this year because we are ready.

Goldie got to pick up his "completed" Camaro! It has been a long time in the making. We bought the Camaro while we were in flight school at Corpus Christi. Goldie drove it as his every day driver for four years before he tore it down to start the body work process. When we moved from Jax to Norfolk we had just gotten the body work, paint and new convertible top done. Nothing had been put back together - the seats weren't bolted down, no carpet, no dash, no console, etc. It sat in the condition for the two years we have lived here. We didn't have the time to work on it anymore so we broke down and took it to the shop. They did a great job! Goldie is like a kid in a candy store! The plan is to pass this car along to Kenan when he is old enough to drive. That begs the question of what car will Sladen get when he can drive? Hmmm...

If you want to check out the progression of the Camaro you can go to a couple of my earlier posts - click here and here.

Last weekend we had the opportunity to go to Annapolis, MD and see the USNA. Goldie's roommate from the Ike lives there now and he and his wife were our hosts. We had such a great weekend. We spent Saturday morning on "the yard" and touring the campus of the Naval Academy. We were able to go into the chapel, Bancroft Hall, and the museum. We went to the USNA vs. CMU football game that afternoon where the weather was beautiful and the seats were great. The boys did pretty well at the game. Sunday morning we went with our host to church. To tell you what a small world it is we ran into a young man that went to our church in Jax that is now in his third year at the USNA. We, also, ran into a couple of Aggies that we recognized from A&M. There was another couple that we knew while we were in Jax because she volunteered at NMCRS with me. How random is that? It was so cool! We had a great weekend!
